Sonnblick Ski Touring Race 2018 High Alpine Ski Touring Competition in Rauris Valley

The tradition of the Hohe Sonnblick ski touring race goes back to a hundred years ago, when Wilhelm Ritter von Arlt skied down from the Hohe Sonnblick to Kolm Saigurn in about 32 minutes. In March 2016, the first Hohe Sonnblick ski touring race since the 1950s was held in Rauris again. Sonnblick ski touring race 2018 takes place on 17 March 2018.

Race Course:Start at Naturfreundehaus Kolm Saigurn (1.598 m) - Barbara waterfall - Neubau (2.175 m) - "Radhaus" to Rojacherhütte (2.718 m) - either via the glacier or the "Rojacherquerung" (decided by the management) to Zittelhaus (3.106 m).
Zittelhaus is the finish for the category "ascent only" and transition zone for the category "combined ascent and descent".
Descent: from the summit over the glacier and the "Maschinengraben" to the Naturfreundehaus.
